Webinar information
The USFS Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program recently unveiled a new national-scale modeling system for predicting tree volume, biomass, and carbon. This webinar will cover a wide range of information, including project background, data collection, modeling approach, and expected changes to estimates in comparison to previous methods. Changes to the FIA database and analytical tools, including a substantial number of new variables that provide a wider range of attribute options for users will be shared. How the volume, biomass, and carbon calculations are performed for an example tree will be demonstrated.
This webinar will be live on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm ET.
Working groups are another way to receive, contribute, and add value to your SAF membership. LEARN MORE about SAF Working Groups or join the Inventory and Biometrics Working Group. JOIN SAF to engage in a working group and tap the growing membership benefits.
