Webinar information

Deciphering dilemmas may be a daily occurrence, and some dilemmas may challenge your ethical and moral value systems. Exercise your dilemma dissecting muscle during the interactive webinar facilitated by SAF’s Ethics Committee. Together you will evaluate if a situation may be an ethical, moral, legal, or practical dilemma. Identifying a dilemma is only part of the equation. What you do with its discovery will equip you to more comfortably handle the next dilemma you encounter. This live-only webinar is part 1 of a 2-part webinar series.

Marianne Patinelli-Dubay

State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry

My work at the Huntington Wildlife Forest, SUNY-ESF’s 15,000-acre research and demonstration forest, is dedicated to the design and delivery of a curriculum in ethics applied directly to forestry and natural resource management.  I authored Practical Ethics: A Field Guide for Resource Managers, which is the result of a rich collaboration with field foresters and serves as a primary text for many of the courses I teach.

I currently serve as Chair of New York SAF, an elected member of the Forest Stewards Guild Membership and Policy Committee, and Chair of SAF’s Ethics Committee.  My husband and I own the prettiest working farm and forest in the Champlain Valley, along the border between Vermont and New York.  Every aspect of my work-life is in service to an optimistic future for woodlands and the communities that they sustain.
