Technical session information

In one of its initial efforts under the Mature and Old Growth Initiative, the USDA Forest Service identified over two hundred old-growth forest types across the US. Each forest type presents unique combinations of species, structural components, and associated threats, among many other variables. In this session, we hear from experts representing their respective region to help us understand how we define, assess, and foster the conservation of old-growth forests.

Is this technical session for you?

These recordings are intended for students and professionals in forestry interested in federal forest policy, defining and conserving mature and old-growth forests, tribal forestry and traditional ecological knowledge, and climate-informed forestry broadly.
