Technical session information
Stemming from language in Executive Order 14072 (April 2022), the Mature and Old Growth Initiative is an effort to conserve mature and old-growth forests across federal forestlands. The USDA Forest Service provides an update on the latest science and policy developments shaping this ongoing effort with an emphasis on the environmental impact statement anticipated for summer 2024.
