Webinar information
Every year, countless tons of community trees fall or are cut down due to storm damage, insect and disease outbreaks, or conflicts with either power lines or personal and commercial property needs. When community members have strong ties to the once standing trees, they demonstrate much creativity in how they choose to honor those memorable trees. Woodworkers are unique artists who can bring almost any vision to life with their skillful hands. They are also excellent teachers, who can inspire today's youth to think differently about what should happen to a community tree that reaches the end of its life. This webinar celebrates the creative spirit of community members, university leaders and woodworkers so that you may recognize new ways to honor the trees in your own neighborhood when they can no longer stand upright.
